Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas formed from Radium decay. It is invisible, and it has no smell or taste. But it can cause lung cancer. You can’t see radon.
Radon may be present in every property, and it is estimated to cause many thousands of deaths each year. That’s because when you breathe air containing radon, you can get lung cancer.
In fact, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. The amount of radon in the air is measured in picocuries of radon gas per liter of air, or “pCi/L.” While any radon exposure creates some risk to health, the EPA considers a level of 4 pCi/L or higher dangerous and recommends that you take remedial measures to reduce or eliminate radon.
We will test for radon at the property to measure the radon level in the air with an EPA approved device. We will provide you with a written report after conducting the 48 hour procedure. The price for a Radon Gas Test service is $159.oo when it is done together with a general home inspection. The service by itself has a cost of $209.oo.
